As an association public library serving the Westfield community, Patterson Library works to ensure that library services, programs, communications, and digital resources are accessible and responsive to community needs.

Individuals who need accommodations in order to participate in a library program, service, or activity may contact the Library Director or complete a Reasonable Accommodation Request Form.

- assistance accessing programs or events,

We encourage requests to be made as early as possible to allow adequate time for arrangements.

Patterson Library respects the privacy and confidentiality of library users and their records in accordance with applicable New York State law, library policy, and professional library ethics.
Personal information collected through:
- library card registration,
- program registration,
- event participation,
- website forms,
- newsletter subscriptions,
- and communication preferences
is used only for library operations, services, and patron communications.
Patterson Library does not sell patron information to third parties for marketing purposes.
Patrons may manage many privacy settings directly through their online library account provided by the Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Library System (CCLS). Available options may include:
- checkout history retention preferences,
- hold history retention preferences,
- messaging preferences,
- and communication notification settings.
Patrons may choose whether to retain or automatically delete certain account histories.
Please note that some account information must be temporarily retained for operational purposes, including management of currently checked-out materials and damaged item recovery.

Patrons may authorize another individual to pick up library materials or receive limited account information on their behalf. When permission is granted, Patterson Library may document the authorization within the patron’s account for operational and security purposes.
Patterson Library offers optional email newsletters, announcements, and event updates through an outside provider.
Patrons may opt in to receive:
- library news,
- upcoming program announcements,
- fundraising updates,
- and special event information.
Subscribers may unsubscribe at any time using the unsubscribe link included in each email communication.
Patterson Library does not sell or share email addresses with third parties for marketing purposes.
Patterson Library offers optional text message reminders for library programs, events, and account notifications.
Patrons may opt in to receive text messages:
- during online program registration,
- in person,
- by phone,
- or through library account preferences when available through the Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Library System (CCLS).
By providing a mobile phone number and agreeing to receive text messages, patrons consent to receive library-related reminders and updates from Patterson Library and/or CCLS notification services.
Consent to receive text messages is not required to use library services.
Message frequency varies depending on participation, account activity, and notification preferences. Message and data rates may apply.
Text messages may include:
- program reminders,
- event updates,
- hold notifications,
- overdue reminders,
- checkout notices,
- and other account-related communications.
Patterson Library does not sell or share mobile phone information with third parties for marketing purposes.
Patrons may opt out of SMS notifications at any time by replying STOP to a text message.
