Patterson Library Program Text Message Notifications

Patterson Library offers optional text message reminders and updates related to library programs and events.

How to Opt In

Patrons may choose to receive text message reminders when registering for a library program in person, by phone, or through an online registration form when available.

When collecting a mobile phone number for text reminders, staff use the following consent language:

“Would you like to receive text message reminders from Patterson Library about your upcoming program? Message and data rates may apply. You can reply STOP at any time to unsubscribe. Your number will only be used for library notifications and will not be shared or sold.”

Only patrons who affirmatively agree to receive text messages are added to the notification list.

Staff record the patron’s consent as part of the program registration process.

Message Types

Messages may include:

  • Program reminders
  • Event updates
  • Schedule changes
  • Weather-related cancellations
  • Program location or parking updates

This service is used only for Patterson Library program and event communications.

Library account notices, holds, overdue notices, checkout notices, and other circulation-related notifications are provided separately through the Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Library System (CCLS) and are not part of this service.

Message Frequency

Message frequency varies based on program participation. Most patrons will receive no more than a few messages per month related to programs for which they have registered.

Sample Message
